Is orthography an untouchable shrine? Where it is treated so, one should think with which difference orthography arose and which ones heavily explicable difference there is the orthography from language to language.
Who is lucky to learn several languages can experience, which surprising possibility of the simplification there can be at the writing of the language. On the other hand one experience at the comparison in different languages, how many unnecessary difficulty and unnecessary complication at the writing of the language obstinately remains unchanged. How much learning is aggravated so and how many superfluous or adverse judgements arise so?
Can this rule be put into effect for the orthography: Write like you speak? This is possibly approximately official in the Serbian orthography. Also at other reforms with the orthography it should be all about like this. But apparent simplification of the orthography is difficult by tough resistance. The early orientation on the antiquity in our education also could have been conducted like with the Latin alphabet of the simpler Latin orthography than in many later European languages.
This brilliant simplification is admirable in the development of language: The thousands words of the thousands languages, the thousands words a language consist from more or less fifty sounds - depending on language. And it is just as brilliant that one can write all thousands of words of thousands of language with less than fifty letters. With "learning learn“ we recognize that „briefly and simply" is a way for learning successfully. Languages with more or less fifty sounds and also letters have developed exactly so. The simplification of the orthography can promote learning the language successfully.
There are efforts for the German orthography about simplification again and again, although one can learn the German orthography with some rules and some explanations. The orthography is more difficult in languages where there is for one letter a different pronunciation, or where a silent "e“ is very often written, or where there are in some words often doubling letters. Have we learnt orthography for these so that we with recurring learning impress the script of the words? Yes, the script is a prototype of the writing. We can hardly imagine the prototype of the writing with our alphabetical writing. We probably learn languages with a difficult orthography from recurring learning by impressing of the script. We don't succeed in our orthography only by rules and explanations but also by impressing and fluency of the script.
